What to Expect From Your Free Water Test

AquaTrust starts with the water you actually have—not a preset equipment pitch. The visit is focused on your water source, the symptoms you are seeing, what can be screened in the home, and what the results mean.
1. We Test the Water at Your Home

1. We Test the Water at Your Home

We start with the real symptoms in your home—scale, staining, odor, taste, discoloration, or other concerns—plus whether you use a private well or municipal water.

2. We Explain What the Results Mean

Based on your water source and concerns, the in-home screening can help evaluate common conditions such as hardness, iron or manganese staining, chlorine, and total dissolved solids.

3. You Decide What Makes Sense

If the concern requires certified laboratory testing—such as PFAS, arsenic, or bacteria—we will say so. The in-home screening is not presented as something it is not.

No Pressure. No One-Size-Fits-All System.

We explain the results and next steps in plain language. If treatment makes sense, we discuss options based on your water and goals. There is no obligation to purchase equipment.

WHAT THE FREE TEST IS FOR

A treatment-planning visit, not a substitute for a certified laboratory

The free AquaTrust in-home screening is designed to help identify common water-treatment conditions and the right next step. It is useful when you are dealing with scale, staining, odor, taste, discoloration or other symptoms and want to understand whether softening, filtration, reverse osmosis or another treatment approach may fit.

Common conditions we can screen for

  • ✓Hardness and scale-related conditions
  • ✓Iron and manganese staining clues
  • ✓pH and alkalinity-related treatment conditions
  • ✓Chlorine-related taste or odor where relevant
  • ✓Total dissolved solids and other diagnostic context

When a certified lab is the right tool

Health-related contaminants and legal or regulatory results need an appropriate laboratory method. That includes concerns such as bacteria, PFAS, arsenic, lead and other contaminants that cannot be confirmed by a field screening.

RIDOH advises Rhode Island private-well owners to use certified drinking-water laboratories for required testing. View RIDOH-certified labs.

What happens next? AquaTrust explains what the screening suggests, whether more testing is needed, and which treatment options fit the actual problem. There is no obligation to buy equipment.
